Southern Code Seminars started in 1991 as Tulsa Code Seminars, and has been providing quality electrical
training in the Oklahoma area since then. Southern Code Seminars expanded into several states and is also certified by the
Arkansas Department of Labor to provide electrical training in Arkansas. Southern Code Seminars also currently provides electrical
training in Tenessee, and more states are being added to our growing list of service areas.

of the electrical industry.
We provide training in the National Electrical Code
(NFPA 70), Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), as well as spacialized training in electrical issues such as grounding
and bonding, special occupancies, etc. We also provide training to help apprentice electricians prepare for the journeyman
electricians examination.

John Staires
Chairman and Founder Mr Staires is currently the Electrical Inspections Supervisor for the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is also the
current Education Director of the Oklahoma Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, and is currently
a member of the Executive Committee of the Southern Section of IAEI. He has served as Past President of the Oklahoma Chapter
of IAEI, and is also Past President of the Southwest Construction Codes Council. Mr. Staires has been involved in the electrical
industry since 1975, serving as an electrical apprentice, journeyman electrician, electrical contractor, and electrical inspector.
He is nationally certified in Electrical 1 & 2 Family Dwellings and Electrical General through the National Certification
Program for Construction Codes Inspectors, and is a licensed Unlimited Electrical Inspector in the State of Oklahoma, and
also holds an inactive Electrical Contractors license in Oklahoma.
